CHP’s Emergency Operations Mission – The mission of the Emergency Operations Section is to support and enhance the California Highway Patrol’s ability to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters and other emergencies. Sergeant Jarod Primicerio will provide the following three break-out sessions:
- A tour of the Emergency Notification Tactical Alert Center
- Meet and Discuss Incident Command Vehicles
- Tour of the CHP Facility
Levee Vulnerabilities: Since the mid 1970's there have been numerous articles in various print media, including scientific journals and study reports discussing the "importance" and ‘value’ of the thousands of miles of levees in Central California and the Delta. What are these man-made structures; what is the value of the land that they ‘protect’; and, what are the threats that they face, both natural and man-made? Hear about them and perhaps about the interdependencies of the state's major water conveyance structures from the Department of Water Resoures’ resident expert. Learn what we all need to understand about the vulnerabilities of these fragile ‘dirt dams’! Speaker: Sonny Fong, CEA, Emergency Preparedness and Security Manager, CA Department of Water Resources.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact SA Brian Buckley or InfraGard Charlie Howell.
